New research reveals name for nature trail incorrect

Researchers at Glasgow University have today announced that the popular name for a Greenock nature trail is completely incorrect.

For years walkers, cyclists and runners have referred to a popular trail as “The Kelly Cut”. But new research insists that it was referred to by locals in the 1850s as “That Kelly Cunt” due to it enabling the mills which people worked themselves into the bone on their 96 hour working weeks.

“We see the frustration of working-class locals as this feat of engineering expanded the amount of cheap labour in the town, with many people dying in industrial accidents at the new mills.”, Hannah Fortescue of Glasgow University’s Social History Department told the Indie, “Indeed, it’s unlikely that the people of those times would have had the energy to go there for a nice Sunday stroll.”
